2018 Community Competitions Draft Fixture Release
Fixtures still susceptible to late changes
Football Federation Victoria would like to advise that Draft Fixtures for the following leagues are now online (please click HERE).
- Women’s State Leagues
- Men’s Metropolitan Leagues
- Men’s Metropolitan Masters Leagues
- Sportsmart Junior Girls
- Sportsmart Junior Boys
- ALDI MiniRoos (Boys & Girls)
Initial team entry numbers indicate a further increase of team numbers competing in FFV competitions in 2018. This continued growth adds layers of complexity to the fixturing process and creates a number of challenges, especially in relation to ground availability and clash resolution. Therefore, you may note that your Club’s kick off time and venue preferences from team entry have varied in the Draft Fixture Release.
Whilst we have endeavoured to provide a clash free fixture, there may also be instances where clashes (i.e. two teams kicking off at the same time on the same pitch) still exist. We will address those instances specifically in the coming days with relevant clubs.
Please note that fixtures for Women's Metro Sevens will be released by Thursday 12 April.
Further Fixture Changes Expected - Late Team Entries, League Changes and Withdrawals
Clubs are urged to inform all coaches, players and their families that we will be addressing, where possible, a number of late team requests between now and the Final Fixture Release on Thursday 5 April. Processing these changes will involve further alterations to fixtures that are currently online so please keep this in mind when reviewing the draft fixtures above.
FFV Competitions is continuing to work through a small number of clash resolution issues which remain, with a view to releasing a final clash free fixture on Thursday 5 April. Current venue and kick off times are therefore subject to change.
We would like to stress that it is not too late to enter new teams. Any late new team entry that is not included for Round 1 of the season, will be included during the Regrading Period after Round 3. Any request for new teams, team withdrawals or league changes must be submitted via the ‘Late Team Request’ form found online, please click HERE.
Fixture Change Requests (Prior to Final Fixture Release)
Between today and 9:00am Monday 26 March, Clubs have the opportunity to request changes to home fixtures prior to Final Fixture Release. Requests for changes can be made by either:
- emailing requests to email@example.com; or
- arranging to meet with a Competitions Coordinator inside or outside business hours at FFV Head Office to resolve fixture clashes directly (recommended for Clubs with a high volume of requests).
All fixture change requests to the draft fixture must be submitted by 9:00am Monday 26 March. Any request received after this deadline may not be considered prior to the Final Fixture Release on Thursday 5 April. We remind Clubs that whilst we endeavour to action as many requests to change fixtures as possible, any changes are at the sole discretion of FFV.
Prior to any submission, we ask that Clubs give strong consideration to whether or not they require changes to the current draft fixture and only submit change requests where absolutely necessary.
Final Fixture Release
The Final Fixture Release is scheduled for Thursday 5 April. Any fixture change requests made following Thursday 5 April will only be considered by FFV if made in accordance with Rule 4.7 (page 29) of the 2018 Rules of Competition.
Outside of reasons beyond the control of Clubs (e.g. ground access/conditions or fixture clashes), FFV Competitions will not process any fixture change request that does not comply with Rule 4.7.
The regrading period will take place between Rounds 3 and 4 with a catch-up round scheduled for the weekend between those rounds. Click here for the FFV Season Calendar.
Regrading will only be considered in accordance with Regulation 10.6 of the Junior Regulations and for the following leagues:
- Sportsmart Junior Boys
- Sportsmart Junior Girls
- ALDI MiniRoos Leagues (Boys & Girls)
We urge all Clubs to familiarise themselves with the Regulations that govern regrading and to ensure that all coaches and teams are aware of the regrading process and its application.
A request to regrade will only be considered if it is submitted by 9:00am Tuesday 1 May 2018 and can be submitted via the ‘Late Team Request’ form found online, please click HERE. Requests to regrade teams via phone and email will not be accepted.
Please note, late team requests to change leagues made during and prior to the team entry period will remain active and will be processed accordingly (unless we have received written instruction to withdraw any such request).
