Inaugural Gala Day Showcases Access To Football
Football Federation Victoria's inaugural Access All Abilities Football Gala Day was held in June at Parade College in Bundoora as a showcase and celebrate inclusion and access to 'The Beautiful Game'.
State Member for Bundoora, The Hon. Colin Brooks MP and Maurice Gleeson, President of Blind Sports & Recreation Victoria attended the Gala Day.
All Abilities Football, that encompasses players with a range of disabilities including Paralympic Football and also Blind Football matches were showcased via competitive and social games on the day.
More than 200 people including participants, coaches and spectators attended.
FFV Chief Executive Officer Maxwell Gratton said the Football All Abilities Gala Day showcased football's ability to unite the community.
"It is exciting to see The Beautiful Game adapt and grow to provide access to players of all abilities," Mr Gratton said.
"I invite all media to attend this Gala Day and use the footage and photography capturing the excitement and joy of playing football.
"I would like to thank our FFV partners of this event; Blind Sports and Recreation Victoria, Sport and Recreation Victoria, Disability Sport and Recreation and Scope."
