All Abilities League Round 1 Kicks Off

Exciting Weekend Opens the All Abilities Season

We kicked off Round 1 of the All Abilities League on the weekend (19th May) with three hubs spanning across metro Melbourne. All players and supporters were excited to come together for a morning of football and to compete against each other.

Our junior division, Joeys, kicked off at two locations, Point Cook SC and Knox Regional Football Centre. Games were played with lots of excitement and valiant effort to ensure a win for their team. There were lots of smiling faces from players, coaches and supporters on the sidelines cheering their team on. A big thank you to the referees who were engaging and encouraging to the kids playing and provided a safe and fun environment.

In the Wallaroos division, Mitchell Rangers claimed a win against Northern Falcons. The win was a fantastic way to celebrate a 10th birthday of one of their players. The game was eventful with many close calls and the ball hitting the crossbar. It was a long tough battle, with amazing team sportsmanship as everyone kept going and encouraging their team mates and the opposition. Collingwood Eagles also claimed a win against Northern Falcons.

The Kangaroos division saw the introduction of two new teams, Glen Eira Rangers and a combined team of Northern Falcons and Collingwood players together. Whilst the FFV State Teams were able to claim victory in both games, the 2 new teams proved that they belong in this division and with a bit of time to gel and train together, will be forces to be reckoned with. Thank you to the referee who was able to control the game and provide a competitive environment for the teams.

Round 2 of the All Abilities League will be on 2nd June with the Joeys division taking a break. Mitchell Rangers will be hosting the Wallaroos and Kangaroos divisions. The day begins with the Little Rangers 10 am to 11 am, followed by the Football federation Victoria’s State teams at 11.45am and 12.30pm Collingwood Verses Northern Falcons at 1.15pm, and the Main Game Mitchell Rangers vs. Collingwood Eagles at 2 pm.

Come on down to Cnr of Pinniger and Mollison Streets Broadford, grab a coffee and watch all the action unfold in front of your own eyes.

We look forward to seeing you at the game!

“You’ll never see, true sportsmanship and passion for the game, until you see the Mitchell Rangers All Abilities team play for yourself.”

– Paul Sirianni, Coach of Mitchell Rangers
