Boys & Girls FC Will Return to Bendigo for 10th Anniversary
Epsom Huntly Recreation Reserve will host the tournament
Football Federation Victoria's premier pre-season tournaments Boys & Girls FC, will be held together on a massive weekend of football, providing the perfect start to the 2018 season.
Epsom Huntly Recreation Reserve, the spiritual home of the Boys & Girls FC tournament, welcomes football back to Bendigo for a historical 10th edition of the event on the 24th & 25th of March, 2018.
The 7-A-Side format will give players more touches, more goals and more fun in entertaining fast-paced games.
FFV President Kimon Taliadoros said "The Boys & Girls FC tournament is a football experience children and their families will never forget.
“It is the perfect environment for boys and girls of all ages to come together and celebrate friendship and the beautiful game.
"We want to reward clubs who get into the spirit of the tournament and bring as many teams and players as possible. So, clubs that register five or more teams are eligible to receive one team free of charge."
Boys & Girls FC is renowned for its focus on a wholly inclusive culture, with importance on providing a rewarding football experience to the players, coaches, referees, volunteers and parents throughout the weekend.
City of Greater Bendigo Tourism and Major Events Manager Terry Karamaloudis said the City was pleased the Boys and Girls FC tournament was returning to Bendigo for the tenth time.
“This popular event started in Bendigo and has become an important feature of our sporting calendar,” Mr Karamaloudis said.
“This event is a great opportunity to showcase emerging sporting talent at one of our premier sporting facilities. The support of our tourism and major events partners is critical to securing events like this.
“We look forward to welcoming more than 1,200 players from across the state to Bendigo to take part in the 2018 edition of Boys & Girls FC.”
