Calder United Wins 2018 Team App Cup

Calder The First Club To Win Women's Cup Twice As They Go Back-To-Back

Calder United became the first club to win the Victorian Women's State Knock-Out Cup for a second time as they defeated Box Hill United 3-1 in the Team App Cup final at the Veneto Club on Sunday, July 1.

Box Hill were also trying to become the first two-time winner of the trophy, having claimed in the inaugural season in 2012.

Box Hill took a first half lead through Saphri Lines and held the lead until after the hour mark, when Catherine Zimmerman's header drew Calder level.

Goals then followed in quick succession for Aleksandra Sinclair and Polly Doran as Calder seized upon the shift in momentum.

American international Zimmerman was recognised for her role in the comeback with the Theresa Deas Medal as best player on the pitch.
