Coach Education Coordinator - 12 month contract

We are seeking applications for a great opportunity as our Coach Education Coordinator reporting to our Coach Education Manger.  This position is a newly created role.  The role is full time, Melbourne based and its primary purpose is to assist with the administration and delivery of coaching courses throughout Victoria and the facilitation of coaching course events.

Your duties and responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Assisting with the administration and delivery of community coaching course events across Victoria; including set-up, identification of presenters, preparation of  materials and budgetary management
  • Assist with the administration of raising the overall technical standard of community coaching through the establishment of professional and consistent Coach Education & Coach Developer programs.
  • Organising ‘live assessment’ days for coaches
  • Attending courses to assist with administrative duties (as required by FFV CEM or TD)
  • Ensuring that coaches complete their practical post-course assessment as per FFA guidelines
  • Assisting with the organisation and delivery of advanced coaching workshops, including the creation and presentation
  • Assisting with the implementation, delivery and general support of Community Coach Coordinator (CCC) program workshops to Coach Developers mentoring at clubs
  • Assisting with the administration, delivery and networking of the State Coaching Conference
  • Assisting the CEA (Coach Education Administrator) with organising promotional packs and equipment for event (Banners and other promotional equipment for the day) as required
  • Assisting with the setup and planning of NPL Technical Directors workshops and Talent Identification workshops
  • All other general coaching administration

Our ideal candidate will possess the following:

  • Current FFA/AFC ‘B’ Licence or current UEFA equivalent
  • Experience as a Coach Developer presenting advanced coaching courses
  • Experience as a Coach Developer presenting community coaching courses
  • Superior organisational skills, proven ability to prioritise demanding work commitments and deadlines
  • Advanced computer skills – MS Word, Excel, Outlook, Access and Powerpoint applications
  • Preparedness to work weekends and non-traditional hours as required
  • High level communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with varied Managers and stakeholders with positive customer service ethos
  • High attention to detail with an ability to be proactive and quickly learn internal databases and FFV systems

Desirable:

  • An understanding of working within a not-for-profit sporting environment
  • Proven experience in an administration role
  • Demonstrable passion for the Federation’s vision, mission and core values

Executive Manager - Women and Girls

Your duties and responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Acting as the spokesperson, public face and custodian of all things Women and Girls in Victorian Football, tightly managing and driving key relationships at the highest level, through influential external parties (federal, state and local government (and government agencies), internal and external stakeholders, corporate affairs, corporate etc)
  • Creating and maintaining the Women and Girls Strategy for FFV to successfully delivery on the four strategic pillars (Performance and Culture, Participation - Women and Girls, Club Obsession, Facilities and Infrastructure)
  • In conjunction with FFA, developing a localised strategy to drive participation towards the desired state of 50:50 participation at all levels by 2028
  • Acting as a subject matter expert and key member of the Executive Management Team (EMT) responsible for Women and Girls issues
  • Providing high-level strategic, planning and policy advice to the CEO and Board affecting Women and Girls relative to the growth of FFV
  • Fostering a success-oriented, bold, transformational & dynamic culture by leading comprehensive Women’s and Girls focussed initiatives
  • Driving Women and Girls committees and forums where appropriate as determined by the CEO and Board of Directors.
  • Ensuring Football is positioned and regarded as the sport of choice for Women and Girls in Victoria

Our ideal candidate will possess the following:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business/Sports Management/Social Justice
  • Post graduate qualification – Master’s or MBA
  • Experience in high level strategic advising roles with experience in growth organisations
  • Proven experience as an Executive Leader where interface with EMT, CEO and Board, has been required.
  • Strong strategic leader experienced in a “values-driven”, outcome-based sports organisation
  • Proven understanding and deep knowledge of gender related concepts, practices and procedures
  • Sound judgement to accomplish strategic goals for the organisation.
  • Proven ability in anticipating future consequences and trends, and incorporating into strategic plan
  • Demonstrable passion for the Federation’s vision, mission and core values.

Media and Communications Intern

Football Federation Victoria (FFV) is currently offering an exciting internship opportunity to join the Media team. The internship will include the opportunity to create content for both public-facing documents, graphics and media as well as enhancing internal departmental communication.

Media students with experience operating social media accounts, ideally of a professional or semi-professional sports team, are ideal candidates for this role. Intermediate skills in the Adobe Suite, namely Photoshop, is desirable. You will also have good organisational and time management skills with the ability to potentially work on multiple tasks simultaneously. The role represents a good opportunity to gain valuable industry experience and build a folio of work to complement your studies.

Football Federation Victoria will work with the successful applicant to tailor contact hours and role requirements around the intern criteria of their particular educational institution.

Media Opportunities with FFV Clubs

Football Federation Victoria is the governing body administering NPL Victoria and NPLW Victoria as well as Victorian qualifying rounds of the Westfield FFA Cup.

Clubs require videographers to film matches, photographers to shoot matches and people to run club social media accounts.

FFV Radio is also seeking commentators and analysts interested in volunteering to cover matches across the above competitions in 2018.

These opportunities are ideal for students or media enthusiasts to build a folio, covering competitive and entertaining football competitions.

Student Placement Opportunities: Sport Trainers

Football Federation Victoria (FFV) is currently offering exciting opportunities for Physiotherapy/Remedial Massage/Myotherapy university students with a Sport Trainer's qualification to apply for Sport Trainer positions within FFV's Talented Player Development programs.

Sport Trainers would report to FFV Head of Physiotherapy Sharbil Wehbe who would instruct students to assist or complete in general sports trainer roles and responsibilities working mainly with our State Development Program squads.

We are currently looking for physiotherapy and myotherapy/remedial massage students to help with the talented player program. The hours vary as there are a number of programs that require assistance. Students should be comfortable performing the following tasks:

  1. Strapping.
  2. First aid/RICE for injuries players acquire during training.
  3. Exercise program supervision. The exercises will be prescribed by the FFV medical staff.
  4. Assisting injured players with their exercise program. This will be done under the instructions of FFV medical staff.
  5. Occasional massage.
