LAST night Football Federation Victoria held another installment in its coach education workshops at Darebin International Sports Centre.

Coach and Development Manager Harry Bingham presented to more than 60 coaches a comparison between the Ajax youth system and the Clairefontaine system, whilst also pointing where Football Federation Victoria fits in with their youth system.

An enjoyable 3 hour workshop proved a great night for all in attendance, with plenty of healthy talk and discussion taking place.

The night opened with a 45 minute video on Ajax Amsterdam, portraying what they focus on and how it varies depending upon age and growth. All coaches were quick to note that quick footwork was of high importance to the Ajax system. It was also intriguing to note the development pathways of players such as Clarence Seedorf, Patrick Kluivert and Dennis Bergkamp, to name a few.

Following on from Ajax, Bingham presented the Clairefontaine system, via a presentation from Clairefontaine Technical Director Aime Jacquet. The presentation detailed the set up of the system, how many staff are required and how a coach should present himself when coaching youth development.

Football Federation Victoria’s coach education workshops are free to all members of the FFVCA.

Please stay tuned to www.footballfedvic.com.au/coaching for the next installment of the coach education workshops!
