NEW Funding Opportunity!

FFV Is pleased to announce a second opportunity for 2008/2009 to work closely with FFV on the Indigenous Sports Development Project. See the below application and project brief which outlines the project aims, guidelines for applying and process for the funding year. The funding period is for the 08/09 financial year so concludes on June 30th 2009. This is a great opportunity for clubs and associations to  promote the game in the off season and work to increase participation for the 2009 season.

Please Note: Those who were allocated funding in the first round WILL be eligible to apply for this round. See the application for guidelines.

This opportunity has been made possible through the support of the Australian Sports Commission and the Department of Victorian Communities. The program is aimed at providing opportunities in football to people in the Indigenous community of all ages and both genders. The program is particularly aimed at Indigenous people that are underprivileged in terms of health, lifestyle and financial capacity.

Football Fun at NAIDOC Celebrations

NAIDOC (National Aborigines and Islanders Day Observance Committee) celebrations are held around Australia in July to celebrate the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. On Wednesday July 23rd a NAIDOC celebration was held in Lakes Entrance, East Gippsland. Local schools participated in a parade down the main street and then a celebration of music, food and sport concluded the day. In conjunction with Gippsport and Sports & Recreation Victoria students participated in clinics and small-sided games run by the FFV. It was a great success with students testing their skills and having lots of fun.
