Dockerty Cup Final Moved
Venue and kick-off time to be set in due course
Football Federation Victoria today moved the Dockerty Cup Final, the men's state knock-out cup final, to better accommodate the footballing needs of competing clubs Bentleigh Greens and Green Gully.
The match will now be played at a venue to be determined on Wednesday August 17, 2016.
The final had originally been scheduled for Saturday July 30. The Team App Cup final, the women's state knock-out cup to be contested between FC Bulleen Lions and Heidelberg United, will proceed on Saturday July 30.
FFV General Manager, Football Operations Matthew Annells said the decision was made to give both clubs the best opportunity to commit fully to the showpiece fixture.
"With both clubs competing in the FFA Cup and most likely NPL Finals there was significant fixture congestion," Mr Annells said.
"This decision gives both teams every opportunity to compete at their best in the FFA Cup, NPL and Dockerty Cup final.
"Bentleigh Greens and Green Gully are to be commended on their work with the FFV football operations team for reaching such a positive resolution.
"While it is regrettable that the Dockerty Cup and Team App Cup finals will not be played on the same day, FFV is excited about staging two marquee events and is committed to the Team App Cup final being a showpiece event in its own right as a stand-alone fixture."
Both the Team App Cup final and Dockerty Cup final will be live video streamed on the FFV Facebook page.
Further match details will be announced in the near future.
