Football Federation Victoria Gold Medal Night 2016 Results

Football Federation Victoria's Gold Medal Night celebrated the achievements of its best in season 2016 at Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre on Friday September 9, 2016.

Hume City FC's Nick Hegarty became just the seventh player to win the Gold Medal for a second time, voted by referees to be the best and fairest player in PlayStation 4 NPL Victoria.

Hegarty previously won the Gold Medal in the former Victorian Premier League competition in 2012.

Hegarty polled 38 votes to win by seven from Avondale FC's Massimo Murdocca on 31.

PlayStation 4 NPL Victoria NPL 2 best and fairest was Brandon Barnes of Dandenong Thunder, who also won the PS4 NPL Victoria NPL 2 Player's Player award and the Golden Boot.

Young Matilda and Senior NTC player MelindaJ Barbieri won the Gold Medal as best and fairest in PlayStation 4 NPL Victoria Women's. Barbieri tied on 26 votes with ineligible Box Hill United player Kristina Hall.

Football Federation Victoria also inducted three of its most decorated figures in the game into the Hall of Fame. Jimmy Armstrong, Frank McIver and Shona Bass were announced as 2016 inductees.
