FFV supporting CSIF proposals
More than 25 project proposals supported
In 2015 Football Federation Victoria supported more than 25 project proposals to Sport & Recreation Victoria (SRV) for funding under the 2016/2017 Community Sports Infrastructure Fund (CSIF).
Announcements about successful funding are underway now, with important projects such as the new synthetic pitch at Corio Leisuretime and new female friendly facilities at Heidelberg United FC, already making headlines.
We have also begun consulting with Councils on upcoming projects for the 2017/2018 CSIF.
Over the coming weeks we expect to be supporting more than 30 expressions of interest for lighting upgrades, pavilion refurbishments and major new developments across the state, among a host of other project types.
If you haven’t already done so, we recommend that you contact your Council today to find out how your club might be able to benefit from the next round of CSIF funding.
Councils can only apply for a limited number of projects each year, so don’t delay.
Over the past five years, FFV has supported around 90 projects that have gone on to receive SRV support.
Minister for Sport, the Hon John Eren MP, recently said: “We’re listening to local communities, who say they need more space for sport to accommodate higher numbers than ever before.”
This could not be truer of football right now. With growth of 13.4% in 2015 and numbers set to rise again in 2016, we know that our grounds are under more pressure than ever before.
The State Government’s $100m CSIF will go towards hundreds of critical projects over four years, and FFV is working closely with Councils and SRV to make sure that football gets the funding it deserves.
