FFV Supports Football in the South Sudanese Community
FFV and VSSF stage The People's Cup
Football Federation Victoria was proud to provide support to the Victorian South Sudanese Football (VSSF) organisation at their two-day event The People's Cup.
Victorian Multicultural Commission (VMC) Commissioner Sam Almaliki attended the event along with FFV President Kimon Taliadoros, AFL player Majak Daw and South Sudanese community leaders from Victoria and NSW.
Twelve men's teams played in the tournament, while a feature women's match was held between players from the western and eastern suburbs respectively.
Western Tigers won the men's tournament, with Melbourne Victory youth coach Gareth Naven offering to arrange a training session for the team.
FFV and Hoppers Crossing Soccer Club provided the venue - Grange Reserve - while FFV assigned referees and provided match balls and prizes.
FFV's attendance was part of an ongoing and increasing commitment to support Victoria's multicultural communities through football.
Communities wishing to engage FFV for support with their football tournament or event can contact Sharon Wong on 9474 1820 or firstname.lastname@example.org
