He also brings deep experience in sporting tribunal matters. He is currently a voluntary member of the Independent Tribunal of the Victorian Amateur Football Association, and he has appeared for Rowing Australia in Olympic and National Team selection appeals.
His hobbies also show a keen interest in sport:
- In 1999, he co-compiled and co-edited the book “COACH! Inspiration and Perspiration”.
- In 2016, he was one of the producers and directors of the feature-length documentary “The Galahs”, about the team of VFL footballers led by Harry Beitzel on a world tour in late 1967.
- He is also currently co-producing a feature-length documentary “Puskás and the South Melbourne Hellas”. It will cover the legendary Hungarian’s time managing the South Melbourne Hellas Football Club when big names such as Postecoglou and Trimboli were playing there, the 1991 NSL championship triumph, and the life of Greeks in Melbourne in the 1980s and 1990s generally.
As with all members of the FFV Tribunal and Appeals Board, the position is a voluntary one and Robert’s time will be wholly donated. The FFV, and the sport of football in Victoria, takes this opportunity to thank Robert for his service to football in Victoria.
