Harry Kewell Coming To Community in Business

Socceroos Legend Kewell The Feature Guest For May 6 Luncheon At White Night Receptions In Maidstone

Football Federation Victoria (FFV) today officially announces Socceroos and EPL legend Harry Kewell as the feature guest at the next FFV Community in Business luncheon on Friday May 6, 2016 at White Night Receptions in Maidstone.

Voted the "Greatest Ever Australian Footballer" in 2012, Kewell represented the Socceroos at two FIFA World Cups and two AFC Asian Cups. Kewell played his club football at world-renown clubs such as Leeds United and Liverpool, where he won the 2005 UEFA Champions League and 2006 FA Cup.

Kewell follows fellow Socceroo legends Mark Bresciano, Josip Skoko and current Socceroos coach Ange Postecoglou as feature guests and now honorary members of Community in Business.

Kewell is in Melbourne conducting clinics at FFV clubs between May 2 – May 8 via the Harry Kewell Academy, an academy that has been developed to provide an exclusive group of young players with a unique professional coaching experience from Harry himself (harrykewellacademy.com).

FFV General Manager, Commercial and Media Anthony Grima said one of the key objectives of Community in Business is acknowledging those who have contributed to football's successful past, present and future on and off the pitch.

"We are extremely fortunate to have Harry attend as feature guest of FFV’s next Community in Business luncheon," Mr Grima said.

"Harry has been doing some great things here in Melbourne through the Harry Kewell Academy and personally providing our young Victorian players with unique professional coaching experiences. Harry has made a tremendous contribution to the game and is an inspiration to hundreds of thousands of junior footballers.

"Our feature guests believe in what Community in Business symbolises, uniting our stakeholders for the benefit of growing the game together and especially benefiting our young footballers so that they too may one day play for the Socceroos or Matildas and be the Harry Kewells and even the Steph Catleys of the future."

“We are grateful to already have just under 50 businesses and clubs join as official Community in Business members and we look forward to growing this support for our future luncheons in May, July and September."
