Independent Final Report Released For Stakeholder Feedback

Men's & Boys' Competition Review Progresses With Independent Report Released

Football Federation Victoria (FFV) today released the independent final report produced from the first phase of its comprehensive review of the competition structure for football in Victoria.

Tasked with delivering an enhanced football experience for all senior and junior players, the review which commenced in August 2017, sought to identify the optimum competition model for Men's and Boys' football (Phase 1) and Women's and Girls' football (Phase 2), with any competition changes proposed for implementation at the commencement of the 2020 season.

As the largest review ever commissioned by FFV, the Football Competition Review was conducted by independent sports consultancy firm Sports Business Partners (SBP), who worked collaboratively with FFV through a comprehensive stakeholder engagement process, led by a dedicated Review Steering Committee.

The final report covers key areas of improvement for the Men’s and Boy’s competition and outlines 29 key recommendations with the ‘Good of The Game’, the core focus of the review.

The independent final report includes background information, detailed analysis of the current structure and performance of the existing football system, benchmarking across other sporting codes, key issues and recommendations and relevant appendix information.

The final report was noted at a recent FFV Board meeting. The Board acknowledged the professionalism of the process and now seek to finalise the Review and approve the recommendations presented upon further consultation with key stakeholders around proposed competition changes and key timelines.

In addition to the various stakeholder engagement sessions scheduled in metropolitan and regional Victoria, FFV now welcomes stakeholder feedback on the full report by July 27, 2018. Feedback can be lodged via email to footballcompetitionreview@ffv.org.au

FFV is keen to continue to progress the World Game in Victoria and harness the passion that exists within the hearts of our stakeholders. The game is well positioned to develop a clear vision for the next 5 years, gain advocacy across all stakeholders and collaborate across all parties for the overall ‘Good of The Game’.
