State Knockout Cup Quarter Finals draw
Draw for the modified six team Quarter Finals stage where six teams will be left in contention for Cup.
The modified Quarter Finals stage of the FFV State Knockout Cup was drawn at the FFV offices at 2pm on Friday 13 July.
Melbourne Victory and Melbourne Heart have chosen not to take part in the competition, meaning that a modified Quarter Final format has been adopted.
This sees the final six teams split into two pools. Each team will play the other two teams in their pool with three points awarded for a win. There will be no draws, with each match going to extra time and a penalty shootout if required.
The top two teams in each pool will progress to the Semi Finals. Semi Finals matches will be randomly drawn.
Teams in this stage are as follows:
Pool A:
Port Melbourne (State League One)
Pascoe Vale (State League One)
Southern Stars (Victorian Premier League) OR Sunshine George Cross (State League One) Round Six match still to be played.
Pool B:
Heidelberg United (Victorian Premier League)
Dandenong Thunder (Victorian Premier League)
Cobram Victory (Regional) OR Bentleigh Greens (Victorian Premier League) Round Six match still to be played.
The structure of the Quarter Finals Series will be as follows:

The above format ensures that each team plays one home game and one away game.
The fixture dates for the above rounds are:
Round 1 – 24, 25 & 26 July
Round 2 – 31 of July, 1 & 2 of August
Round 3 – 7, 8 & 9 of August.
The first named team is the home team and is expected to provide a venue with adequate lighting for the match, if you do not have match quality lighting at your venue and are unable to source a venue the match will revert to the home ground of your opposition if they have adequate lighting.In the event that no team can provide match quality lighting FFV will determine the venue for the match.
