Cory Skilton and Rhys Shelmerdine selected for Cobram v Morwell,
Two Ballarat referees, Cory Skilton and Rhys Shelmerdine, have been appointed as officials to Football Federation Victoria’s (FFV's) Regional Challenge Trophy Final at Melbourne's Lakeside Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
"The appointment of Cory and Rhys is evidence that we are producing good match officials in Ballarat," said FFV Regional Referee coach Alan Clark.
"Both have experience officiating locally as well as in the higher leagues of Melbourne.
"Cory will definitely be appearing in many more games of this standing in the coming years, and Rhys shows plenty of promise.
"Together they make a very solid team."
"There are lots of fantastic opportunities for those wanting to be football referees.
"The FFV is always looking to recruit more. It's a great way to use your football knowledge and be paid to keep fit."
The Final will be played between Cobram Victory and Morwell Pegasus, the two regionally-based teams which went the farthest in the FFV's Statewide Cup, open to all football teams in Victoria.
Ballarat Red Devils was knocked out in the sixth round in June, and local league clubs Ballarat North United and Sebastopol Vikings in the third in March.
The Regional Challenge Trophy final will kick off at 2.30 and will be followed by the State Knockout Final between Port Melbourne Sharks and Dandenong Thunder at 5pm.
