Maribyrnong Sports Academy Football program trials
Applications close April 18
Applications for male and female student-athletes to apply for enrolment into the Maribyrnong Sports Academy Football program close on the April 18 for 2017 Year 7 students.
Maribyrnong Sports Academy is proud of its 11-year history with the sport of football, with a number of student-athlete scholarship holders having graduating from the program to represent professional clubs both overseas and in the Hyundai A-League and Foxtel NYL.
Just recently Sebastian Pasquali went from Melbourne Victory youth team to the senior team before signing a contract with Dutch powerhouse Ajax Amsterdam U19 - all while balancing his morning technical training sessions, academic studies and Hyundai A-League commitments.
The Football Program at Maribyrnong Sports Academy is run by Technical Director Arthur Papas.
Papas holds an AFC Pro License and has experience within the Hyundai A-League, Australian Institute of Sport as well as coaching internationally with the U23 Indian National Team and currently coaching in Saudi Arabia which is Asia's third best league.
Technical coaches' experiences range from working within Hyundai A-League clubs, FFV National Training Center and PlayStation 4 NPL combined with playing experience both professionally in Europe and within the national team setup.
Papas also praised the school female athlete pathway.
“Our female program has played a big role in developing student-athlete scholarship holders who have gone to represent Australian national junior teams and also play in the Westfield W-League including Mindy Barbieri, Annabel Martin, Sky Jensen and Mie Inoue representing the Thailand U19 women's team," Papas said.
This is a select entry program.
