Participation in Exercise, Recreation and Sport: 2006 Annual Report

  • 134,800 'participants' in outdoor football in Victoria
  • 99,800 'participants' in indoor football in Victoria
  • Estimated 165,275 participants playing indoor and outdoor football more than 13 times in Victoria in 2006

STRATEGIC IMPLICATIONS: PARTICIPATION
  • FFV must strengthen its understanding of the needs of the estimated 120,275 participants already playing football
who are currently not attracted to being part of the FFV family - a compelling value proposition is required.
    • FFV must also strengthen its understanding of current affiliated customer needs and high priority
targeted segments (Women & Girls and Futsal)
  • The capacity (people, clubs, facilities) to meet the demand for football by Victorians needs to be bolstered
to convert the refreshed interest in the game.
    • Football will need to rebuild the delivery model
