Program to be led by experienced head coach Nick Mammone
Football Federation Victoria is excited to announce the expansion of the Talent Identification and Development Centre (TIDC) Program into Wodonga in 2018.
The program will be led by experienced head coach Nick Mammone who will be working in conjunction with clubs to identify and develop talented players (2002-2006 Born) in the area for State and National representative squads.
Identified players will train each Friday night with their Wodonga TIDC Squad out of La Trobe University-Wodonga, while training at least twice a week and playing matches with their current club.
Training will be broken into two training blocks & one final selection block:
Block 1: 8 week program - Beginning the week of April 16 (Cost $100)
Block 2: 8 week program - Beginning the week of June 18 (Cost $100)
Selection Block: 4-5 week training block for selected players preparing for age relevant tournaments/tours
Further, Victoria will have Victoria Country boys teams that will be competing at the U13/U14 FFA National Championships this year in Coffs Harbour.
FFV and Murray United FC have been in close consultation with the NPL club providing vital facility access and sharing training resources that has enabled FFV to reduce costs to run the program.
Additionally, to assist with the expansion of the program, FFV will be covering the costs for identified female players who are currently registered with the NPL club in 2018. Initial player selection for 2018 will be based on an open trial while taking into consideration club nominations and scouted players.
To be eligible for TIDC, players (both males and females) must be born between 2002 and 2006 and must be registered with a NPL or Community Football Club
