Victorian Teams Set To Defend National Crowns

Victoria Squads For Westfield NYC Girls 14s and 15s

Victoria's 14-year-old and 15-year-old representative teams will head to Coffs Harbour on Sunday to compete in the Westfield National Youth Championships for girls.

Victoria won both age groups last season, while a number of participating players were invited to Junior Matildas camp in the following months.

FFV NTC Girls head coach Stefan Busso said the program was excited by the progress players had made in 2016.

"We're looking forward to taking our style of play and testing it against the other states," Busso said.

"Several players in the 15s team have had their first taste of PlayStation 4 NPLW Victoria this season, and it's been reflected in their games and the group as a whole.

"The NYC is a good opportunity to be seen by the FFA technical study group and national coaches. This tournament is one of the early stepping stones for players aspiring to play at higher levels like national youth teams or the W-League".

The Westfield National Youth Championships for girls runs Monday June 10 to Friday June 14, see the full fixture here.
